East London is a mere one-and-a half hour flight to and from Cape Town; Durban and Johannesburg international airports. The East London Airport is serviced by Kulula airline and South African Airways. All major car hire companies are represented at the East London airport . The road system to and from East London consists of the N10 leading into the interior and the N2 leading into East London from Cape Town in the West toward Umtata and KZN (Durban) toward the East. All major roads in the region are tarred and in reasonably good condition, particularly the routes (N2) to major centres.
